Famous for its high-quality cotton, Awat county is known as the "home of long-staple cotton in China". In 2021 and 2023, the film crew went to the county and stayed with local cotton farmers, documenting their labor, challenges and harvests during busy seasons and capturing their daily lives and local traditions.

In the documentary, Arkin's and Zhao Qiang's families faced difficulties during the cotton harvest seasons, including labor shortages, injuries and inclement weather. The film authentically portrays their hard work in securing better lives for the families.
