The timeliness of real-time weather data is maintained within two minutes between updates, with the frequency of weather warning data pushes shortened to a minimum of five minutes, and the spatial resolution of grid forecasts refined to a 1-kilometer radius. On April 3, State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co Ltd deployed a panoramic intelligent monitoring system for power meteorological resources in Suqian. This system is capable of collecting high-precision meteorological data, including UV light intensity, wind speed and direction, temperature and humidity, as well as ground-based cloud imaging, offering precise data support for photovoltaic power generation forecasting and dispatching, as well as disaster prevention and mitigation efforts for the power grid.

With the pace of constructing the new power system accelerating, the meteorological sensitivity of tasks such as grid dispatching and equipment disaster prevention has gradually heightened. This device is capable of gathering detailed meteorological data within a 1-kilometer radius, ensuring comprehensive coverage of meteorological information for areas ranging from townships and substations down to power grid lines and towers.

Suqian is situated on the Northern Jiangsu plain, abundant in photovoltaic resources. In recent years, the installed capacity of renewable energy has been continuously expanding, leading to increased pressure on power grid dispatching. Additionally, frequent meteorological disasters have impacted grid security and dispatching efficiency. Under the meticulous guidance of the Digitalization Department of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co Ltd, the Suqian Power Supply Bureau of State Grid has accelerated the development of "electricity + meteorology" application scenarios. The newly installed monitoring equipment is capable of aggregating multi-source meteorological data from meteorological departments, photovoltaic power stations, wind farms, and other sources, thereby enhancing the efficiency of renewable energy power dispatching and ensuring the safe operation of the power grid.

"The device employs AI algorithms to enable us to accurately predict various meteorological disasters, thereby significantly enhancing the Suqian power grid's capabilities in disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as carbon reduction and efficiency enhancement," said Xu Weiwei, deputy director of the Science and Technology Digitization Department at State Grid Suqian Electric Power Supply Company.
