Yoon not to attend impeachment ruling

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has decided not to attend the constitutional court's ruling on his impeachment scheduled for Friday. After considering factors such as maintaining order and security concerns, the president has decided not to attend tomorrow's impeachment verdict, Yoon's legal representatives said on Thursday, adding that the legal team will be present. The constitutional court has announced that it will deliver its verdict on the impeachment case on Friday. If impeached, Yoon will be immediately removed, and a new presidential election must be held within 60 days. If the impeachment is dismissed, he will resume his duties.

PM rejects US bid for taking over Greenland

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Wednesday emphasized that Greenland should not be taken over by the United States, amid growing geopolitical attention on the Arctic region. At least 7 die after boat sinks off Lesbos Island

At least seven people have died, including two children, after a boat carrying migrants from Turkiye to a nearby Greek island capsized, Greece's coast guard said on Thursday. A search and rescue operation off the northern coast of the island of Lesbos recovered the bodies. The coast guard said 23 people have been rescued. Those rescued were taken to a hospital and the search continued, Anadolu news agency said. Weather in the area was reported to be good, and it was unclear what had caused the boat to overturn early Thursday morning.
