Delegation visits Hangzhou's intangible cultural heritage

At Hangzhou Wangxingji Fan Industry Co Ltd, national-level representative inheritor Sun Yaqing introduced the craft's history, which began in 1875. Eighty-eight handcrafting steps have been developed to produce 19 categories of fans of more than 10,000 varieties. Their finest works were showcased at the 19th Asian Games and selected as gifts at the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit.

"We've been adopting digital technology and collaborating with other sectors, such as animation, cosmetics and fashion, for intangible heritage to continue thriving in the modern era," Sun says.
