Xi congratulates Milanovic on reelection as Croatian president
President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a congratulatory message to Zoran Milanovic on his reelection as Croatian president.
In the message, Xi said that China and Croatia enjoy a profound traditional friendship, and the two countries are good friends and good partners, sharing mutual respect and trust.
In recent years, the two sides have carried out high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and promoted joint efforts in various fields with openness, mutual benefit and win-win results, which demonstrates the vitality of bilateral relations, he said.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Croatia relations and stands ready to work with Milanovic to help the two countries advance hand-in-hand on their respective modernization paths, and open a new chapter in the China-Croatia comprehensive cooperative partnership.
Premier stresses building Party integrity, combating corruption
Premier Li Qiang stressed on Friday the need for persistent efforts to build the integrity of the Communist Party of China and combat corruption.
While attending a State Council meeting on clean governance, Li said the battle against corruption still faces a severe and complex situation, adding that anti-corruption efforts must be continued with perseverance and dedication.
Li said multiple measures must be taken to address misconduct and corruption simultaneously in order to eradicate the breeding grounds and conditions for corruption.
Senior official urges strong guarantees for national rejuvenation
Cai Qi, a senior official of the Communist Party of China, called on Friday for the country's organization departments to provide strong guarantees for the nation's efforts to build itself into a strong country and achieve national rejuvenation through Chinese modernization.
Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting attended by heads of the country's organization departments in Beijing.
Vice-premier to attend WEF annual meeting, visit Switzerland, Netherlands
Vice-Premier Ding Xuexiang will attend the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025 in Davos, Switzerland, and visit Switzerland and the Netherlands from Sunday to Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun announced.
Ding will deliver a special address in Davos, and China looks forward to enhancing understanding and trust, forging consensus on cooperation and adhering to genuine multilateralism, Guo said.
China hopes that the visit to Switzerland will further promote the implementation of leaders' consensus. In the visit to the Netherlands, Beijing looks to enhance mutual understanding and trust, he added.
