New energy storage plant for Inner Mongolia

Inner Mongolia Energy Group has started constructing a large-scale new energy storage power station in the Ulan Buh Desert. Costing over 2.1 billion yuan ($295 million) and designed with a capacity of 605,000 kilowatts, the project is the largest single energy storage power station under construction in the country. The photovoltaic power generating facilities will enable the station to send a stable supply of electricity to the grid.

Auto sales up 3% in first eight months

In the first eight months of the year, China's auto sales grew 3 percent year-on-year, with total sales at about 18.77 million units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. During the period, the production of China's automakers reached 18.67 million vehicles, up 2.5 percent year-on-year. Auto sales in August, however, shrank 5 percent from a year ago to approximately 2.45 million units, while output declined 3.2 percent to 2.49 million units.
