Xi's selected works published in multiple languages
Editions in multiple languages of the first two volumes of Selected Readings from the Works of Xi Jinping have been published by Foreign Languages Press and distributed both at home and abroad.
The French, Russian, Arabic and Spanish versions of the volumes will help foreign readers comprehensively understand Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and accurately comprehend the substance of Chinese modernization, according to an official statement on Monday.
They also bear great significance in presenting a China that is credible, appealing and respectable, and extending the reach and appeal of Chinese civilization, the statement said.
The first two volumes of the book series contain important works by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, from November 2012 to October 2022.
The English-language edition of the volumes was published in March, following the original Chinese edition's publication in April 2023.
Political advisers discuss TCM preservation, development
The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, held a regular consultation session on Monday to discuss how to support the preservation and innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine.
The session was presided over by Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
Wang emphasized the need for more targeted and pragmatic research, deliberation and suggestions from political advisers to give full play to the role of TCM in advancing the Healthy China Initiative. He called for deepened research on major issues including TCM preservation. He also emphasized the promotion of TCM among the youth and to the world.
Ten political advisers and TCM expert Zhang Boli shared their opinions at the session. Officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Administration of TCM and the National Medical Products Administration gave briefings on pertinent matters and exchanged views with political advisers.
