Platform and project launched for a zero-carbon future

The 'Beautiful Heart Youth' platform and the 'Youth Zero-Carbon Public Welfare Action' project were both officially launched in Beijing on Thursday, aiming to inspire young individuals to actively participate in environmental conservation and contribute to China's ambitious zero-carbon targets.

The platform seeks to address the identified need for more kids-friendly community service opportunities for adolescents. And it will provide a digital hub for youth to engage in meaningful community service activities, guided by professionals in the philanthropic sector.

Guided by the China Philanthropy Research Institute at Beijing Normal University, and co-hosted by the Beijing Yixingzhe Foundation, and Yishan, it is also supported by strategic partners like the Vanke Foundation and Laoniu Brother and Sister Foundation.

"The platform is designed to empower adolescents with a sense of social responsibility and innovative capabilities," said Tao Ze, President and Founder of Yishan, during the launch. "We aim to support their growth and enable them to contribute to sustainable development both in China and globally."

At the event, the "2024 White Paper on Middle School Students' Community Service in China" was also released, highlighting the significant role of teenagers in community service. The white paper has been initiated since 2021 and has reached its third research phase. Over the past three years, it has accumulated 15,000 questionnaires from middle and high school students and more than 200 excellent cases of public welfare practices.

The white paper in 2024, a result of a five-month research project, provides insights into the motivations and barriers faced by middle school students in their pursuit of public welfare activities.
