Residents' quality of life enhanced by State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company

May 10 marked the eighth China Brand Day, an event aimed at raising awareness on brand development and brand building. In order to enhance the corporate image of the State Grid, State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company in Ningxia Hui autonomous region organized volunteers and Communist Party service teams to carry out a series of "I am here to help the people" volunteer activities.

By providing services on the streets and visiting enterprises and schools, they have been assisting users and solving problems. Their actions have been helping to enhance users' sense of satisfaction and brand recognition.

Practicing green development

On May 13, the launching ceremony of the 2024 Shizuishan City Energy Conservation Promotion Week - jointly organized by the Shizuishan's city development and reform commission, ecology and environment bureau, commerce bureau, and other departments - was held on a pedestrian street in Dawukou district in the city. State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company organized services related to electricity-saving and green and low-carbon development publicity.

During the event, the Saishang Haojiangnan (Dawukou) Communist Party member service team of State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company focused on the theme of green transformation and energy conservation and set up consultation desks, displayed promotional boards, handed out leaflets, and explained in detail the importance of energy conservation and low-carbon living to the residents. They answered the questions raised by the public and guided them to live an energy conservation and low-carbon lifestyle.

It is reported that this year marks the 34th National Energy Efficiency Promotion Week, which is scheduled from May 13 to 19. It is an event advocated by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment aiming to strengthen the communication and publicity of ecological protection, energy conservation as well as green and low-carbon development concepts. With a focus on the dual carbon goals, the event closely follows the work of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), promotes advanced energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies, accelerates the renewal of energy-consuming equipment, improves energy consumption efficiency, and enhances the quality and efficiency of economic development. On that day, State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company distributed more than 300 pieces of promotional material on-site, received inquiries from more than 50 people and achieved good social feedback.

Providing electricity services to campuses

To ensure the safe and reliable operation of campus electrical equipment, on May 9, the Pingluo Communist Party member service team, young volunteers and Communist Youth League members of State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company went to the Second Kindergarten in Pingluo county to carry out volunteer service activities.

During the event, they conducted comprehensive inspections and maintenance of the indoor and outdoor lines of the school, focusing on whether electrical appliances in places such as school buildings, offices, canteens and dormitories were damaged; whether the switches and sockets had leakage; and whether there were aging lines. They checked for poor contacts, damaged electrical appliances and other issues, and then assisted the school in handling them promptly.

The Party member service team members also explained energy-saving and electricity safety knowledge to the teachers and children in the school to improve their sense of electricity use. Some safety publicity posters were displayed in classrooms and corridors, allowing teachers and students to acquire the knowledge in a timely manner.

Gas-to-electricity upgrades

Gas safety issues have been a long-term concern in the catering industry and State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company has actively promoted the electrification in the industry and advocated for fully electric kitchens so as to promote the green and safe development of the catering industry. Gas-to-electricity upgrades can effectively reduce operating costs for businesses, improve safety for venues and help reduce energy consumption.

Since the beginning of 2024, State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company has organized the "Electricity Brothers" service team and provided services to residential communities and blocks. They opened a green channel and tailored power supply solutions for users with electrification transformation needs. They conducted safety inspections for catering establishments and on-site surveys. By determining the power of kitchen appliances such as electromagnetic cookers and steam cabinets, identifying the required additional electricity capacity, and checking for electrical safety hazards, they provided suggestions to help customers save electricity costs, allowing the people to use safe, reliable and satisfactory electricity. Through practical actions, they demonstrated the image of the State Grid and safeguarded the people's livelihood.

Empowering enterprises by power supply

On May 14, the Saishang Haojiangnan (Dawukou) Communist Party member service team visited Ningxia Haili Electronics, Ningxia Hengda Textile Technology and Shizuishan Shengjinyuan Textile Technology to inspect the electricity equipment to eliminate safety hazards in electricity use.

Considering their recent production and operation conditions, they promoted the latest national electricity price policies, encouraged enterprises to implement time-of-use electricity pricing policies, staggered electricity use, and helped enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency. By pioneering the online app, it allows everyone to enjoy high-quality and efficient electricity services without leaving their homes. Their efforts have further enhanced the public's sense of electricity access and satisfaction.

It is reported that on May 15, the Ningxia Shizuishan high-tech 220-kilovolt power supply project constructed by State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company was put into use. To ensure the electricity demand of enterprises and drive the development of new quality productive forces in the region, State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company invested 20.77 million yuan ($2.88 million) into the project and provided "nanny-style" and "order-based" services. They also made efforts to accelerate the construction of the main power supply lines, providing solid power guarantee for the implementation of major projects and the high-quality development of the local economy.

Promoting prosperity through sunshine

"Since the installation of rooftop photovoltaics, we have not had to worry. Service teams from our power supply company came frequently to help us inspect, which is very reassuring," said Wu Lijun, a villager in Yinha village, Lihe town in Shizuishan city on May 14. The Minning Friendship Hongguozi Communist Party member service team of State Grid Shizuishan Power Supply Company visited Wu's home during the day to conduct an inspection on the rooftop photovoltaic power generation equipment and lines.

With recent weather changes, in order to make the access of new energy more convenient, safer and efficient, the Party member service team took the initiative to provide on-site services to photovoltaic companies and users, intensifying inspections, checks and supervision of power generation equipment. They conducted a comprehensive inspection of grid-connected switches, metering devices, inverters, and other equipment and advised users to clean the dust on the photovoltaic panels and surrounding shading objects to ensure the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation. Additionally, the service team posted posters in village alleys to ensure the normal power generation and grid connection of photovoltaic equipment. Such efforts were aimed at facilitating the villagers to enjoy the benefits of new energy.
