Beijing Capital shining example of Beijing's fast recovering aviation sector

She also noted that in the first quarter of this year, the passenger throughput of the Beijing Capital has reached 16.38 million, a year-on-year increase of 61 percent, about 94 percent of the volume in 2019 — before the pandemic.

Among them, domestic passenger throughput was 13.17 million, a 38 percent year-on-year increase, while international and regional passenger throughput is 3.21 million, representing a growth of over 4 times year-on-year and accounting for 20 percent of the overall passenger throughput at the airport, she said.

As the airport has begun to enter the summer season since March 31, the aviation market at the Beijing Capital has been continuously recovering, she said.

Now, there are 83 international flight destinations, including 42 intercontinental destinations and 41 in Asia. There are at least 2 flights between the Beijing Capital and five intercontinental destinations every day such as Frankfurt and Munich.
