Premier to deliver keynote speech at Beijing forum
Premier Li Qiang will attend the China Development Forum 2024 and deliver a keynote speech, the event's organizer announced on Friday.
The forum, hosted by the Development Research Centre of the State Council, is set to convene its annual session from Sunday to Monday in Beijing.
This year's forum, under the theme of "The Continuous Development of China", will bring together over 110 foreign representatives, including leaders from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the Asian Development Bank, as well as top executives of foreign enterprises.
China to align BRI with Vietnam counterpart
Beijing reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative with Hanoi's "Two Corridors, One Economic Belt" initiative on Friday as part of broader efforts to promote the modernization drive of both nations.
Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the need for China and Vietnam to maintain high-level exchanges while meeting in Beijing with Le Hoai Trung, head of the Commission for External Relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.
Cai also met on Friday with a Democratic People's Republic of Korea delegation led by Kim Song-nam, department director of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee.
Anti-graft chief urges eradicating hotbeds of corruption
Li Xi, chief of the nation's top anti-graft body, highlighted the need to eradicate breeding grounds for corruption and ensure the high-quality development of China's disciplinary inspection work, during a fact-finding trip to Zhejiang province from Monday to Thursday.
Li, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, stressed the need for unwavering efforts to strengthen political supervision and improve conduct, enforce discipline and combat corruption.
He called for coordinated steps to see that officials do not have the audacity, opportunity or desire to be corrupt.
Vice-president lauds Sino-Singapore ties, friendship
Vice-President Han Zheng highlighted China's readiness to enhance political mutual trust, promote people-to-people exchanges and deepen high-quality cooperation with Singapore on Friday.
During a meeting with Teo Chee Hean, Singapore's senior minister and coordinating minister for national security in Beijing, Han affirmed Beijing's commitment to furthering its reform and opening-up policies.
Teo stressed the profound traditional friendship between the two nations, saying that Singapore attaches strong emphasis to ties with China and stands ready to deepen cooperation across various sectors.
