Sam's Club, the upscale members-only retail chain under the Fortune Global 500 company Walmart, is set to open its maiden outlet in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

Located in the city's economic and technological development zone, also known as Yangshe sub-district, the new store is slated to begin welcoming customers by 2025. The establishment will boast an expansive shopping area of 20,000 square meters and over 1,000 parking spaces.

Commenting on the arrival of Sam's Club, Han Wei, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, expressed optimism about the store's ability to cater to the diverse needs of consumers in Zhangjiagang and neighboring cities. He emphasized that the addition of Sam's Club aligns with Zhangjiagang's goal of enhancing its modern service industry and improving urban functions.

This forthcoming outlet marks the fourth Sam's Club in Suzhou. Last December, Sam's Club started offering one-hour delivery services in Zhangjiagang, which was met with great enthusiasm by local residents.

Currently, Zhangjiagang hosts over 1,100 foreign-funded enterprises, with 41 of them being Fortune Global 500 companies. In the first two months of this year, the city has recorded a remarkable 95.3 percent year-on-year increase in the actual utilization of foreign investment, amounting to $180 million.
