Premier welcomes continued US investment in China
Premier Li Qiang extended a message to welcome businesses from the United States to continue investing in China on Wednesday, saying that decoupling or practices that "build small yards with high fences" go against the fundamental interests of both nations.
Li made the remarks during a meeting in Beijing with a US delegation led by Suzanne Clark, president and CEO of US Chamber of Commerce.
The premier highlighted the high degree of economic complementarity and deeply integrated interests between the two nations, stating that strengthening economic and trade cooperation would result in a win-win situation.
He expressed the hope that the US Chamber of Commerce and its entrepreneurs would continue to serve as a bridge to foster more communication, exchange, and mutual understanding between the two countries.
Clark underscored the extreme importance of US-China relations, saying that decoupling between the two sides is not applicable.
She said her organization will continue to serve as a bridge to promote bilateral economic and trade relations and win-win cooperation.
Vice-President meets with WWF chief
China greatly values environmental protection, and hopes to cooperate more closely with the World Wide Fund for Nature, Vice-President Han Zheng said during a meeting with Kirsten Schuijt, director-general of WWF International, on Wednesday in Beijing.
The Chinese government has firmly established and practiced the philosophy of green development, and has made remarkable accomplishments in building a beautiful China, Han said, adding that China is a participant, contributor and trailblazer in building a global ecological civilization.
The WWF, one of the largest environmental protection organizations in the world, which carried out giant panda conservation cooperation in China in the 1980s, has contributed to China's ecological environment protection and sustainable development, Han added.
Schuijt praised China's important role in global nature conservation and ecological governance, and said she hopes to strengthen cooperation with China on global biodiversity protection and promoting sustainable development of the world.
