Xi congratulates Assoumani on his reelection as president of the Comoros
President Xi Jinping has congratulated Azali Assoumani on his reelection as the president of the Comoros, saying that he is ready to work with Assoumani to take bilateral relations to a new level and better benefit the people of the two countries.
In a message sent on Sunday, Xi said that China and the Comoros are good friends, good partners and good brothers with sincere friendship and mutual trust, and he highly values developing China's relations with the African island nation.
In recent years, bilateral ties have developed rapidly, with fruitful results from practical cooperation in various fields, Xi said, adding that the two sides have firmly supported each other on issues related to their respective core interests and major concerns.
Memorandums of understanding signed on global publishing of Xi's book on governance
The China Foreign Language Publishing Administration signed memorandums of understanding on Tuesday in Beijing with 20 foreign publishing houses on co-publishing the fourth volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
The administration will jointly translate and publish the book in multiple languages with the 20 publishing houses from nations including Thailand, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The publishing houses expressed their desire to cooperate in translating and publishing the book in their local languages after it was published in French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese in June 2023.
The Chinese and English editions of the fourth volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China were published in July 2022.
Premier calls for advancing sci-tech innovation during fact-finding trip to Shaanxi province
Premier Li Qiang underscored the need to advance scientific and technological innovation in order to drive industrial innovation and to expedite the growth of new productive forces during a fact-finding trip to Shaanxi province on Monday and Tuesday.
Li visited Xianyang and Xi'an, the provincial capital, where he inspected manufacturing businesses and Xi'an Jiaotong University, before presiding over a symposium with officials to solicit suggestions on this year's Government Work Report.
The premier encouraged faculty members and students at the university to make greater progress in integrating research with industrial applications and serve the national goal of attaining sci-tech self-reliance.
