Service trade up 9% in Jan-Nov 2023
China's total service import and export volume grew 9 percent year-on-year in the first 11 months of 2023, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed on Thursday. The service trade volume exceeded 5.89 trillion yuan ($829.61 billion) during the January-November period last year, according to the ministry.
CDB issues $15b rail construction loans
The China Development Bank issued 105.5 billion yuan ($14.9 billion) worth loans in 2023 to finance the construction of railway infrastructure, the bank said this week. The funds have backed the launch of about 2,300 kilometers of new rail lines, the State-owned policy bank said. Last year, the lender prioritized key areas such as high-speed railways and intercity railways in important regions, it said. According to the bank, it will continue to provide stable financial support in the future for building a modern transport system in the country, with a focus on the construction of a high-speed railway network.
