Railway station nears completion

Construction of Mingguang West Railway Station in East China's Anhui province reached a milestone as China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp completed capping of the main station building recently. The project will link the county-level city of Mingguang with the 324-kilometer Hefei-Xinyi High-speed Railway, which originates in Hefei, Anhui province, and terminates in Xuzhou's Xinyi in Jiangsu province. More inland cities are expected to benefit from the railway, which is part of the development of the Yangtze River Delta region.

CNOOC explores very deep seabed geology

China's independently developed Haijing system, a marine seismic exploration and acquisition equipment that uses submarine cables, completed its first 3,000-meter-deep seabed geology exploration on Thursday, 500 kilometers south of Zhuhai in South China's Guangdong province, said its operator China National Offshore Oil Corp. This is the first time that China completed such an exploration, a major breakthrough in the country's independent marine exploration technology.
