In Yangnaotou — a village in Binzhou, Shandong province — local farmers established a photovoltaic panel array in their fish ponds. With the help of the State Grid Binzhou Power Supply Co, this innovative photovoltaic power station generates approximately 1.53 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year.

This not only saves around 61.3 tons of standard coal annually but also increases the collective income of the village by approximately 61,000 yuan a year.

To ensure the efficient and orderly grid connection and power generation of photovoltaic projects, the State Grid's Binzhou unit optimized the grid connection process for photovoltaic power generation projects and provided high-quality services in project design, operation, and grid connection, to accelerate the overall completion progress.

As solar panels are positioned above the water surface, the project operation mode has effectively reduced the water's solar radiation absorption and subsequently lowered panel temperature. Also, the cooling effect not only benefits marine life but also enhances the efficiency of the photovoltaic panels.

Leveraging the abundant solar energy resources, the photovoltaic industry not only ensures increased income for local farmers but also drives local economic development, the company said.

"It has been sunny days for quite a few days. As long as the sun comes out, the photovoltaic power plant will generate revenue. The better the day is, the higher the power generation of photovoltaic panels will be.

"The staff of the power supply company will regularly dusts the photovoltaic panel. If there is dust on the photovoltaic panel, the power generation will be affected. If the power generation is abnormal, it will be repaired immediately to ensure the normal operation of the photovoltaic power station," said a villager.

The novel model integrates green agriculture and green energy, leading to improved farming efficiency and higher-quality aquaculture products, local media reported recently.

It also generates both economic and social benefits. Yangnaotou Village boasts an extensive lake area, and by cashing in on its unique resource advantages, it has successfully developed their photovoltaic industry. This approach uses clean energy for daily life and production as well as facilitating sustainable, green development, and contributing to the revitalization of rural areas, the company said.
