Enterprises pledge active response to climate change at COP28

DUBAI -- Leading Chinese and foreign enterprises Friday jointly urged industrial and commercial sectors worldwide to actively respond to the goals of the Paris Agreement and the action plans of the UN climate change conference.
They made the appeal at a dialogue session discussing the sustainable development of enterprises on the sidelines of the 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is taking place here in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
At the session, China's special envoy for climate change Xie Zhenhua said that as efforts to cope with climate change are unfolding, various new technologies and business modes would be created to foster a huge green market and unleash new and strong growth potential.
Saying climate change is both a challenge and an opportunity for enterprises, the envoy expressed the hope that enterprises will seize the opportunity and take active actions to decarbonize the industrial and supply chains and help with the global response to climate change.
