China will continue to drive forward high-level openness with an emphasis on the pursuit of shared opportunities through collaboration, a commerce official said on Wednesday.

Guo Tingting, vice-minister of commerce, said further efforts will be made to propel openness and collaboration on a larger scale, led by the Belt and Road Initiative.

The remarks were made during the China Economic and Social Forum, hosted by the China Economic and Social Council, on Wednesday in Beijing.

Furthermore, China will discuss and sign high-level free trade agreements with more countries and regions, Guo said.

Additionally, a strong emphasis on industrial and supply chain collaboration will pave the way for more partnerships, she said, adding that it is important to maintain the stability and smoothness of the global supply chain and oppose unilateral measures and decoupling.

Guo said that more efforts are needed for safer global cooperation with economic security as the foundation.
