Shanghai picked for STEM institute
UNESCO said it will establish a top-level international institute for STEM (or science, technology, engineering and math) education in Shanghai. At its session in Paris on Thursday, representatives of member states appreciated China for its proposal to establish such a center in Shanghai. China's proposal showed strong support for UNESCO and will be crucial for the world to address the challenges posed by the new sci-tech revolution, they said.
