Railway set to boost local integration

Jiangsu province and Shanghai in the Yangtze River Delta region are building another railway line to help boost local integration. The Phase II of Jiangsu-Shanghai link line, 111.8 kilometers long, runs near river banks and sea shores in southern Jiangsu and Shanghai with a designed speed of 200 km per hour. China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd is helping build it, which includes a 7.3-km section in Jiangsu and a 104.5-km section in Shanghai. The line, starting from Taicang Railway Station in Jiangsu and ending at Situan Railway Station in Shanghai, will play a key role in boosting the integration of the delta region.

Logistics sector stays stable in Oct

China's logistics sector maintained stable development in October, industry data showed. The index tracking the country's logistics market performance stood at 52.9 percent last month, down 0.6 percentage point from September, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. A reading above 50 indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 reflects contraction. China's logistics market performance remained in the zone of expansion last month, with logistics activities in all regions maintaining sound vitality, said He Hui, chief economist of the federation. The sector has a stable foundation to grow in the next stage as the internal impetus for economic growth will steadily release, he said.

Three Gorges firm launches agrivoltaics

The China Three Gorges Corp, the world's largest hydropower developer and operator, has seen its agrivoltaics project connected to the grid in East China's Fujian province. Developed in cooperation with Fujian Sunner Group, one of Asia's largest chicken breeders, the combined photovoltaic and modern farming project in Guangze county, Fujian, boasts an electricity generating capacity of 45.6 million kWh on average a year in the first phase, according to the company. The company plans to deepen cooperation with Fujian Sunner Group on developing a smart and zero-carbon energy supply system for farming.
