Artworks chronicle Long March victory
New collection honors 90th anniversary of a revolutionary journey
More than nine decades ago, a determined group of Chinese soldiers embarked on a 12,500-kilometer journey across mountains and rivers. Today, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Red Army's Long March (1934-36) victory, artists from four prestigious art academies in the country have retraced that historic journey with brushes, chisels, and clay.
Artists from four member institutions of the "Times' Palette" Art Academy Alliance, an international cultural and collaborative partnership between China Daily and the country's top-tier fine arts academies that promote cultural exchange, host large-scale global art exhibitions and publish visual art, have created an artwork collection that forms an artistic "Long March Map". They are Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
