At present, about 170 million resources can be found on the platform, while around 80 million full-text resources can be obtained for free, including journals, dissertations, patent literature and scientific data.

Fast-charge lithium-ion batteries developed

A team of Chinese scientists has developed a type of fast-charging lithium-ion battery capable of reaching a 90 percent charge on a cellphone within just 10 minutes. The graphite-based battery has an ultrathin phosphorus layer on its surface, which can in-situ convert to crystalline solid electrolyte interphase with high ionic conductivity, according to a study published recently in the journal Nature Energy. The researchers from Huazhong University of Science and Technology tested pouch cells with such a graphite anode. The battery capacity reached 80 percent in 6 minutes and 91.2 percent in 10 minutes.

Bamboo an eco-friendly substitute for plastics

China has initiated a three-year action plan to promote the use of bamboo as an alternative to plastic products to curb pollution. According to the plan, issued by State organs including the National Development and Reform Commission, by 2025, bamboo items used as a replacement for plastics would see further improvement in their quality, variety, scale and profitability. By then, the added value of these bamboo items will increase by 20 percent compared with the 2022 level, while the utilization rate of bamboo materials will rise by 20 percentage points.
