17 projects worth 8.8b yuan inked at CIIF


A total of 17 projects with a combined investment of 8.8 billion yuan were inked during the ongoing China International Industry Fair (CIIF) held in Shanghai on Wednesday.
The projects cover a variety of emerging industries including biomedicine, life and health, and advanced materials among others.
As a city to build a socialist modern international metropolis with global influence, Shanghai is continuously improving its major functions such as scientific and technological innovation and high-end industry leadership, focusing on building a modern industry, accelerating the transformation of its traditional industries, vigorously developing the city's leading industries and key industries, charting plans for new and future industries, said Chen Jie, vice-mayor of Shanghai at an investment promotion conference of the CIIF.
The event is part of the city's efforts in expanding manufacturing, raising industrial productivity, and showcasing Shanghai's resolution on developing its economy.
