CR24 building box girders for HSR
A high-speed railway connecting inland and coastal provinces took another step forward as State-owned China Railway 24th Bureau Group Corp, a builder of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway — one of the major national horizontal rail lines — said the third bid of the HSR's Shanghai-Hefei section has begun box girder building, with the first one already completed on Thursday. CR24 said 71 more box girders will be prefabricated at a designated area along the HSR in Taicang, Jiangsu province and are scheduled to be completed by year-end. Installation work will start next May, according to CR24.
Jiangsu's sports industry to expand
East China's Jiangsu province is set to expand its sports industry's total output to more than 720 billion yuan ($98 billion) by 2025, according to its three-year action plan. According to the plan, Jiangsu aims for its sporting facilities to reach 4.2 square meters per person and the total volume of its residents' sports consumption to amount to more than 300 billion yuan. In the next three years, the province will also increase the number of fitness facilities, including building 130 new sports parks or squares, 2,000 kilometers of walking trails and 1,000 outdoor sports courts with lighting systems.
