China-Mongolia passenger train resumes operation

An international passenger train running between China and Mongolia that was suspended because of COVID-19, has officially resumed operation.
The train, designated 686 (22), departing from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to Ereenhot, China, arrived without incident at Ereenhot station on Wednesday morning, according to China Railway Hohhot Bureau Group Co.
Beginning on Aug 31, travelers can easily commute between Ulaanbaatar and Ereenhot using the China-Mongolia passenger train, which will run every Sunday and Thursday from Ulaanbaatar, and every Monday and Friday from Ereenhot, providing convenient traveling options for passengers in both directions.
In the future, the railway departments of the two countries plan to temporarily increase train services in response to passenger demand.
This year, China and Mongolia will host several major international economic and trade events, including the China-Mongolia Expo and the China (Ereenhot) International Investment and Trade Fair in September.
This year is also the Mongolia Tourism Year, and it's expected that there will be a significant increase in tourist flow between China and Mongolia.
