Roundtable outlines efforts with foreign firms, further opening-up

China will ensure the same national treatment for all foreign enterprises, providing them with broad market space and cooperation opportunities, said Chen Chunjiang, assistant minister of commerce, while presiding over a roundtable with company executives in Tianjin.
Chen listened to information about the business operations, demands and suggestions of six foreign enterprises, including Airbus and Volkswagen, on their key investment projects in Tianjin during the symposium on Thursday.
China is forging full speed ahead on its path towards modernization and unswervingly promoting high-level opening-up, Chen said, adding that the ministry will strengthen its follow-up services for key foreign investment projects and dynamically update the list of projects.
Efforts will be made to advance the signing of projects under negotiation, expedite construction of contracted projects and put completed projects into operation, Chen said.
Various localities including Tianjin have established the roundtable system. The ministry will further work with local governments and fully leverage such mechanisms to enhance communications with foreign enterprises and provide targeted and efficient services, according to the ministry.
