Top liquor brand posts higher revenue in H1
China's leading liquor maker Kweichow Moutai posted an operating revenue of 69.58 billion yuan ($9.75 billion) in the first half, up 20.76 percent year-on-year. Its net profit during the period rose to 35.98 billion yuan, the company said in its semiannual report. The company's renowned liquor is distilled in Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Pudong reports foreign trade surge in first half
Shanghai's Pudong New Area saw its foreign trade volume expand 18 percent year-on-year to 1.3 trillion yuan ($181.8 billion) in the first half, said Shanghai Customs on Thursday. During the period, Pudong's imports reached 800 billion yuan while exports grew to 500 billion yuan, up 13.8 percent and 25.5 percent, respectively. Shanghai Customs said that since a guideline to support high-level reform and opening up of Pudong was published in April 2021, the new area has been promoting the development of high-tech industries and has formed a modern industrial system.
