BEIJING - Pork prices in China registered a week-on-week decrease from July 10 to 14, official data showed.

During the period, the average price of pork tracked by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs stood at 18.13 yuan ($2.54) per kilogram, down 0.3 percent from the previous week.

Pig farmers accelerated pig processing during the period, while the demand shrank due to heavy rainfall and school holidays, leading to lower pork prices, according to the ministry.

The price was 40.8 percent lower year-on-year, the data revealed.
