App keeps residents up to date on important issues

A group of volunteers have recently been arranged to promote the use of the Xuexi Qiangguo app in Guanxian county, Shandong province. The app is known for its diverse materials, which cover topics including current affairs, history, tourism and lifestyle.

Volunteers demonstrated to local residents, especially the elderly, how to download and access the app. Operation manuals have been made to help senior villagers navigate the app and find content of interest. The goal is to help residents keep abreast of political affairs, economic development and cultural experiences and consequently spice up their life.

"The app is very convenient and there is so much practical information," says Cheng Baolu, a local villager.

"I can read stories, tune into audio and video programs, without the interruptions of ads," Cheng adds.

Local authorities say they would keep promoting the app among the public to increase their sense of participation in social affairs.
