Ex-Audi chief sentenced over emissions scandal
Former Audi chief executive officer Rupert Stadler has been found guilty of fraud and sentenced to one year and nine months in prison on probation, the Munich Regional Court said on Tuesday. Stadler has also been ordered to pay a fine of 1.1 million euros ($1.2 million). He was the first member of the board of Audi's parent company Volkswagen to plead guilty in the so-called Dieselgate scandal.
SOUTH KOREA
People lose one year under new age law
South Koreans became a year or two younger on Wednesday as new laws that require using only the international method of counting age took effect. In December, South Korea passed laws to scrap the traditional method — people are deemed to be a year old at birth and a year is added every Jan 1 — and fully adopt the international standard, which calculates from zero at birth and adds a year on every birthday.

Body found in rubble after Paris blast
A body has been found in the rubble after a building collapsed in Paris last week, the Paris prosecutor's office said on Tuesday. The victim has yet to be identified and a postmortem examination will be carried out, the department said. One person had been reported missing since the blast, which injured 50 people.
