Cambodia envoy lauds China's way of growth

The Chinese path to modernization has set a fine example for developing countries to realize economic growth and common prosperity for the people, and Cambodia welcomes China in promoting high-quality development and high-standard opening-up, the top envoy of Phnom Penh to Beijing said.

Khek Caimealy Sysoda, Cambodia's ambassador to China, said in a recent interview that Chinese modernization is "undoubtedly a model for human advancement; it presents another picture of modernization and expands the channels for developing countries".
This path has provided a Chinese solution to aid the exploration of a better social system for humanity, she said.
"China, the world's largest developing country, has become an important force in making economic globalization more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial for all."
The envoy spoke as China and Cambodia mark the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Year of China-Cambodia Friendship.
"Cambodia and China will come together to further reinvigorate the building of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future and to pass on their friendship from generation to generation," she said.
The two countries issued a joint statement on the building of a bilateral community with a shared future for the new era during Prime Minister Hun Sen's China visit in February.
During the visit, the two sides agreed to focus on six areas, including production capacity, agriculture, energy, security and people-to-people exchange, to build an all-around cooperation framework.
Ironclad friendship
"No matter how the international situation changes, Cambodia and China will unswervingly deepen their close ironclad friendship and develop win-win practical cooperation for mutual benefits, to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind," the ambassador said.
She highlighted the significance of China's experience in agricultural and rural development to Cambodia, a developing country with a predominantly agricultural economy.
She noted that the modernization of the rural sector is one of the key parts of modernization for China, which focuses on building strong agriculture, advancing work relating to agriculture, rural development and farmers, and promoting rural revitalization.
She appealed to both sides in enhancing cooperation through the exchange of experiences, best practices, and capacity building in agriculture and aquaculture, the food and forestry sectors, and research and development.
