Sunak probed over wife's undeclared shares
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is under investigation over allegations he failed to disclose shares his wife owns in a child care business that stands to benefit from his government's budget, The Associated Press quoted a parliamentary watchdog disclosure as saying on Monday. Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards Daniel Greenberg opened an inquiry last week for possible violations of the code of conduct that calls on members to be "open and frank "in declaring relevant financial interests, according to an update given to members of Parliament who returned Monday from Easter break. Parliament requires members to disclose financial interests within four weeks of something they said or actions they took that may have been influenced by a financial interest.

Syrian FM visits Tunisia to resume relations
Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar on Monday hosted his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad who started a three-day official visit to Tunisia aimed at resuming diplomatic relations between the two countries. According to a previous statement by the Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Mekdad's visit came within the framework of keenness to restore bilateral relations between Syria and Tunisia". This development follows the decision made on April 12 by the two countries to reopen their respective embassies and resume diplomatic ties, after Tunisia severed its diplomatic relations with Syria in February 2012 after the Syrian civil war broke out.

George Santos to run for reelection
Representative George Santos, the New York Republican whose lies about his background and wealth helped propel him into office, announced on Monday that he's running for reelection. Santos is facing investigations over myriad allegations about falsehoods during his last campaign. Despite those allegations, Santos refused calls from many fellow New York Republicans to resign.
