Railway to link Ningbo with Zhoushan
East China's Zhejiang province is building 10 landmark projects to boost its transport. Among them, the Ningbo-Zhoushan Railway, partially built by China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd, costs some 27 billion yuan ($3.9 billion) and aims to link coastal Ningbo with the island city of Zhoushan. Construction started on Nov 2 of last year. The line includes seven stations, allowing trains with speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour. The railway includes Xihoumen Highway and Railway Bridge, dubbed the world's longest super sea-crossing bridge with a total length of 3,118 meters, to connect Zhoushan's Jintang and Zezi islands.
Auto Shanghai 2023 to open on Tuesday
The 20th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, also known as Auto Shanghai 2023, is scheduled to be held from Tuesday to April 27, the organizer announced. The exhibition is the first A-class international auto show to be held in China since the country optimized its COVID-19 response. Over 1,000 enterprises from around the world have registered to participate in the auto show at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
Hainan's foreign trade sees rapid growth
Hainan province has witnessed rapid foreign trade growth over the past five years, making solid strides in developing into a high-level free trade port. Hainan's combined imports and exports logged a 23.4 percent average annual increase in the past five years, surpassing 200 billion yuan ($29.2 billion) for the first time in 2022, according to the General Administration of Customs. In the first quarter, Hainan's foreign trade hit a new high of 57.74 billion yuan, up 32.5 percent year-on-year.
