Initiatives promote shared future for mankind
2023 marks the 10th anniversary of China proposing to build a community with a shared future for mankind. The Belt and Road Initiative in the past decade, assisting developing countries in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the past three years, and coping with global climate change all reflect the far-fetched impact of China's proposal to build a community with a shared future.
Hussein Askary, a board member of the Belt and Road Institute in Sweden, said the BRI is a pragmatic project and China's success in poverty alleviation can help with practical development issues in other countries.
Paul Tembe, Sinologist and founder of SELE Encounters in South Africa, highlighted China's contribution to global solidarity in the fight against COVID-19 in which the BRI played an important role.
Asit K. Biswas, a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom, said the community with a shared future for mankind has become part of China's diplomatic policy.
Wilson Lee Flores, a moderator at the Pandesal Forum a columnist at The Philippine Star, and an economic and political analyst, said China has promoted mutual development around the world through the BRI, which has benefited global development.
