Pioneering industrial enterprises, projects win grand awards

The 7th China Grand Awards for Industry, widely recognized as the highest honor for the industrial sector in China, was held in Beijing on Sunday.
Organized by the China Federation of Industrial Economics and approved by the State Council, China's Cabinet, the award aims to commend the enterprises and projects that represent the highest level of China's industrial development, beef up efforts in self-innovation, and promote the high-quality development of China's industrial economy.
This year, 19 enterprises and 19 projects have won prizes, including China National Offshore Oil Corp ltd, State Grid Corp of China and Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology. The awarded enterprises and projects have played a pioneering role in advanced areas including independent innovation, successful industrial transformation and upgrading, as well as green and low-carbon development.
Li Yizhong, chairman of the CFIE, said during the award ceremony that China is accelerating the upgrading and development of its industrial system, with more advanced manufacturing clusters and companies specializing in niche industries with cutting-edge technologies expected to grow in the country. The award will further discover and cultivate these sectors in the future, and strive to help them make more contributions to regional and national economies, Li added.
