Ex-head of religious affairs investigated
Cui Maohu, former director of the National Religious Affairs Administration, has been placed under investigation for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and national law, according to an official statement released on Saturday. Cui, also former deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. The State Council on Saturday announced that Cui had been removed from his post as head of the top religious affairs agency.
Former deputy Ningxia Party chief under probe
The former deputy Party chief of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region is being probed for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and law, according to an official statement released on Friday. Jiang Zhigang, former deputy secretary of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China and former secretary of the CPC Yinchuan city committee, is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, the statement said.
