China's top political advisory body briefs the media: Highlights


The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, held a news conference on Friday, one day ahead of the opening of its annual session.
Guo Weimin, spokesperson of the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee, briefed journalists on the session and took questions.
Here are some highlights:
- The session will open at 3 pm Saturday and close on March 11
The 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will open its first session on Saturday at 3 pm at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. (Read more)
- Around 30,000 proposals submitted by political advisers in 5 years
National political advisers have submitted about 29,000 proposals in the past five years on various topics and many of them have promoted the decision making of the government. (Read more)
