China's economy projected to grow steadily

China's economy will grow steadily this year with an estimated annual GDP growth rate of around 6 percent, said the Center for Forecasting Science under Chinese Academy of Sciences on Thursday.

In 2023, the growth rate of the added value of the primary industry is predicted to be 4.3 percent. The growth rates of the secondary and tertiary industries are projected to be 5.6 percent and 6.4 percent, respectively.

Consumption, investment and net exports are forecast to contribute 3.5, 1.5 and 1 percentage points to GDP growth respectively, according to the center.

It is estimated that China's economic growth is likely to reach 4.2 percent in the first quarter, 9.3 percent in the second quarter, 5.5 percent in the third quarter and around 5.4 percent in the fourth quarter, it said.
