Sanya business is booming

As the COVID-19 prevention and control measures continue to be optimized, tourism of Sanya, Hainan province, has been rebounding during this winter.

According to data released on Tuesday by Meituan, a Chinese e-commerce platform providing life services, with the increase in tourists, the takeaway sales of sunscreen products in Sanya ranked first in the country last week, with a growth rate of 35 percent from the previous week and 139 percent from the same period last year. Among the sales, more than 65 percent of the orders were delivered to hotels, and 5 percent of the orders were made from parks and scenic spots.

The takeaway sales of water gadgets like swim suits and slippers, and daily necessities like snacks and contact lens solutions have also increased significantly in Sanya, and many hotel takeaway counters received ample business.

The revival of tourism has also led to local brands and specialty products selling like hot cakes.

Tourists are happy to take home a taste of the tropical island to share it with their relatives and friends at home.

In addition to specialties such as fruits, coconut candy, dried seafood, and pearl jewellery, the Hainan island clothing has gained popularity too.

Last week the takeaway sales of Hainan's island clothing in Sanya increased by 45 percent, compared with that of the previous week and 246 percent from the same period last year, and 78 percent of the orders were delivered to hotels,according to Meituan.
