Artist's exhibition offers a perspective to look back at the present

Conceptual artist Hu Qingyan's ongoing exhibition, 2023, ushers viewers into a position to review what has happened over the past years and to examine the complex relations between art and reality.

Marble and its sense of coldness, heaviness and solemnity inspired Hu to carry out a multidimensional exploration with society and the underlying philosophies. All works on show are made of marble to reflect the artist's understanding of the material and art.

Hu's exhibition is running at Galerie Urs Meile Beijing through Feb 26.
