City aiming for skies with aviation tech plans
Shanghai will seek breakthroughs in key aviation technology, advance research and manufacturing of manned electric flying machines that can take off and land vertically, as well as explore airborne traffic possibilities in the coming decade. This is part of the city's ambition to have its future industrial output value reach 500 billion yuan ($69.93 billion) by 2030, said Wu Jincheng, director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization during a news conference on Wednesday.
International marine expo to open in Hainan
The 2022 China (Hainan) International Marine Industry Exposition will take place at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Haikou, capital of Hainan province in South China, from Thursday to Sunday, local authorities said. Covering 25,000 square meters, the exposition has attracted 95 exhibitors from other provinces including Shandong, Jiangsu and Guangdong.
