Texas Instruments accelerates innovation to help local customers

The US company Texas Instruments has announced progress on its additional assembly and test capacity in Chengdu, Sichuan province, and automation upgrades to its Shanghai product distribution center to help get local customers the parts they need, when and where they need them.
The announcements came as Texas Instruments, also known as TI, showcased how its analog and embedded processing products and technologies are helping manufacturers drive innovation forward in green grid, electric vehicles and robotics systems at the fifth China International Import Expo, which is being held in Shanghai until Thursday.
Jiang Han, vice-president of TI and president of TI China, said "We are excited to offer our customers stronger local support, address their needs quickly and efficiently, and help them succeed."
"The expansion of our Chengdu manufacturing site and upgrade of our Shanghai product distribution center further underscore our deep commitment to supporting our customers in China," Jiang said.
"TI looks forward to increasingly embracing shared growth and shared success with our customers in China," Jiang added.
Specifically, TI announced the installation of tools inside its second assembly and test factory in Chengdu, CDAT2, to prepare for future production. The factory has been under construction since 2018. Once fully operational, CDAT2 will more than double TI's current assembly and test capacity in Chengdu.
Since 1986, TI has been in China to support local customers. With additional assembly and test capacity coming soon, highly automated product distribution centers in Shanghai and Shenzhen, Guangdong province, sales teams in nearly 20 cities in China, and research and development teams across the country, TI said it is committed to developing and manufacturing innovative semiconductor products for markets in China and around the globe.
