Zero-tariff treatment for 10 countries
China will grant zero-tariff treatment on 98 percent of taxable products, or 8,786 items, originating in 10 least developed countries such as Afghanistan and Benin, starting on Dec 1, said the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council, China's Cabinet, in an announcement on Wednesday.
Garment sector revenue, profit up
China's garment sector registered steady expansion in terms of revenue, profits and exports in the first nine months of this year, data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed. The combined operating revenue of the country's 13,155 major apparel enterprises reached 1.08 trillion yuan ($148.85 billion) in the period, up 2.2 percent year-on-year, said the ministry.
