As one of the highest-rated tales, the first story — titled Tang Gong Ye Yan (Night Banquet in Tang Dynasty Palace) — is inspired from the namesake show performed by Zhengzhou Song and Dance Theater, a sensational hit after it was staged on the 2021 Spring Festival Gala. Interestingly, the dance show itself was inspired from a set of ancient dancing figurines unearthed in Anyang, Henan province, in 1959.

Also attending the event, Wang Lei, who recently won the best actor award of the 33rd Flying Apsaras, says he feels proud to play a police officer in Xi Xiang Ming Yue (The Moon Shines on Xixiang). "As an actor, I believe it is our responsibility to convey the voice of this era through our characters," said Wang.
