Chinese construction machinery manufacturer Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group demonstrated its latest products and technology at Bauma 2022, an international construction and mining machinery trade fair held in Munich, Germany, last week.

At Bauma, which ran from Oct 24 to 30, XCMG said it brought a product portfolio featuring digital, intelligent and green development. It aims to provide global clients with complete solutions in terms of construction machinery.

Themed Innovation for Green, XCMG's exhibition area demonstrated nearly 50 new machinery products including cranes, excavators, loaders, road rollers and aerial working platforms.

The high-tech products at XCMG's exhibition signaled the company's step toward green, digital and intelligent development, said Kaien Li, executive general manager of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, Asia.

It also showed XCMG's efforts in exploring engineering technology and zero-carbon emissions, which is admirable, Li added.

At the opening ceremony of Bauma, XCMG debuted more than 10 eco-friendly and cost-effective products, representing the group's progress in saving energy and green transformation.

At the exhibition area, XCMG introduced a series of products featuring intelligent technology, innovation and eco-friendliness. These included the world's first hybrid all-terrain crane, the XCA60-EV; an emission-free electric excavator, the XE35U-E; a self-developed electric mini wheel loader, the XC918-EV; an intelligent paver, the RP705; a heavy-lift cherry picker, the XGS22E; and a multifunction model for piling foundation construction, the XR320E.

One of the star exhibits, the XCA60-EV hybrid all-terrain crane, has a maximum lifting capacity of 60 metric tons and a boom length of 48 meters. Its onboard battery provides emission-free lifting operations, according to the group.

Energy-saving and eco-friendly products are welcomed in the European market, said a European visitor at the exhibition.

As global energy prices surge, the crane can help reduce operational costs while still providing quality lifting performance, the visitor said.

In addition, the group launched an electric telescopic boom forklift, which is the first of its kind in China. It also makes XCMG the third manufacturer in the world to secure this product's technology.

At its excavator exhibition section, XCMG unveiled 13 new products, which target the European market. These new products featured intelligent technology and multiple devices, and have high security and reliability in operations.

Nagy Sandor, a client from Hungary, tried out the XE35U-E electric excavator. "It is the first time I've operated the XCMG electric excavator, which has an impressive appearance and excellent control performance," Sandor said.

Another highlight of XCMG's exhibition, the loading equipment section, adopted livestreams to promote its products.

At this section, the group used seven languages to introduce its new products across the world via livestreaming broadcasts, attracting nearly 6 million views. On top of this, the group launched a cloud program for intelligent manufacturing. This allowed visitors to experience and learn about the production of hydraulic and powertrain-related products online.

According to XCMG, this year's Bauma exhibition boasted the group's most complete product portfolio. It also had the largest number of new energy products in the group's overseas exhibitions, representing Chinese engineering and manufacturing strength.

"In early 2022, XCMG took the lead in the industry by releasing its action plan for reaching peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality. It shows XCMG's confidence and resolve in implementing green and intelligent development," said Liu Jiansen, vice-president of XCMG Machinery.

"XCMG is determined to push green development and strives to take the lead in low-carbon emission and energy saving with new energy products featuring high volume, low energy consumption and more eco-friendly performance, which will create more value for our global clients," Liu said.

During the exhibition, XCMG gathered with nearly 100 dealers from more than 20 countries and regions to discuss future cooperation.

Liu delivered plaques to XCMG's cooperation partners from Europe during the exhibition. These expressed the group's appreciation for helping it expand in the European market.

Apart from exhibits, the group arranged games and performances, such as a 3D simulation and even an excavator opening bottles of beer, adding some fun to visitors' experiences.

Moreover, the group released its global social responsibility brand "Help with Love". It demonstrated public service activities that the group has conducted in Africa.

XCMG will continue to cooperate with clients, shareholders and partners to implement corporate social responsibility and build a bright future, the group said.

Bauma is a triennial exhibition for engineering and machinery in Europe. It is the world's leading trade fair in the construction industry, attracting participants including industrial manufacturers, contractors and developers.
