Expressway to better link Henan, Hubei
An expressway is being built to better link Central China's Henan and Hubei provinces to bolster the flow of personnel and other factors of production. The Jiaozuo-Tanghe Expressway, partially built by China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd, will serve as one of Henan's 12 north-south transport arteries and a major interprovincial link. The road, construction on which began in March 2021, is expected to launch operations in early 2023. Its 100.7-kilometer Ruzhou-Fangcheng section, costing 8.7 billion yuan ($1.2 billion), made significant headway after CREC4 builders erected the first box girder on the 186-meter-long Penghe Bridge on Tuesday.
