Certain airlines plan to resume, increase international flights
Some airlines released plans this month to resume or increase the number of international flights, as China's civil aviation market recovery speeds up.
China Eastern Airlines plans to increase its weekly international flights to 108 after the beginning of the industry's winter and spring season on Oct 30; China Southern Airlines will increase its weekly international flights from the current 71 to 86; Hainan Airlines plans to increase the flights from Chongqing to Rome, Italy to twice a week starting from Nov 6, news portal the Paper reported on Tuesday.
Air China and Spring Airlines also announced, on their respective official WeChat accounts, plans to resume or open multiple international flights.
Several airlines announced the resumption of international flights in June, after the State Council Executive Meeting in late May decided to increase domestic and international passenger flights and release some supportive measures to facilitate the travel of foreign companies' staff members.
The nation shortened the quarantine time for inbound travelers in June. The Civil Aviation Administration of China is working under the coordination of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council to carry out the resumption of flights, according to Xu Qing, deputy director of the administration's Department of Transportation, at a news conference on July 12.
The CAAC also released a notice on Aug 7 to optimize its "circuit-breaker mechanism" on international passenger flights to boost the recovery of the aviation market.
