China Southern to resume international flights

China Southern Airlines, one of the country's three major airlines, will resume international passenger flights, including Guangzhou-Jakarta and Dalian-Tokyo, later this month to meet demand, the company disclosed on Friday.

Flights between Guangzhou and Jakarta, Indonesia, will resume on Oct 26 while flights between Dalian, Liaoning province, and Tokyo's Narita Airport will resume on Oct 25, the company statement said. Both routes will include two round-trip flights per week, it said.

Meanwhile China Southern, the largest airline by fleet size in Asia, said it will increase its international flights from Guangzhou to Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Manila, Philippines; Bangkok, Thailand; and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, before the end of October.

According to the statement, flights linking Guangzhou and Dubai will be increased to three round-trips per week, and the flight to Manila will increase to at least once a week starting Oct 27.

Round-trip flights from Guangzhou to Bangkok and Phnom Penh will be increased to at least once a week beginning Oct 24 and 18 respectively, the statement said.

China Southern Airlines will have a total of 86 international round-trip flights per week after the resumptions and frequency changes, the statement said.

Currently China Southern Airlines operates 71 international round-trip flights per week.
