Activists charged in soup dump protest
Three climate activists appeared in a London court on Saturday on charges of criminal damage after protests including throwing soup over Vincent van Gogh's Sunflowers painting in the National Gallery. Two women, aged 20 and 21, were charged in relation to the soup throwing protest on Friday, while a third was charged over paint sprayed on a rotating sign at the Metropolitan Police's headquarters in central London.

Police arrest suspect in serial killings
A man suspected of killing six men and wounding a woman in Northern California was arrested before dawn on Saturday as he was apparently searching for another victim, police said. Acting on tips and police work, investigators tracked and watched a man and stopped him in a car at about 2 am in Stockton, where five of the shootings took place, police chief Stanley McFadden said at a news conference. Wesley Brownlee, 43, had a mask around his neck, had a gun and "was out hunting", he said.

Man killed by Israelis in West Bank clash
A man died early on Sunday from a gunshot wound he suffered during a confrontation with Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. It was the latest death connected to clashes during Israeli raids in the Palestinian territory, which the military says target wanted Palestinians involved in planning or taking part in recent attacks on Israelis. The ministry identified the dead man as 30-year-old Mujahed Daoud.
